Day 05
After B’fast Proceed on a half a day wild life safari to Yala National Park by 4x4 jeep. PM visit to sacred Kataragama Kovil in time for the Pooja ceremony. This colorful shrine was created to pay homage to Princess Sita. The Pilgrim’s center, where a shrine devoted to the God Skanda was built to be visited by people of all faiths throughout the year.

Day 06
After breakfast morning at leisure. PM 4X4 safari to Bundala National park; return to the Hotel.

Day 07
After breakfast proceed to Nuwara Eliya en route visiting a tea plantation and Factory. Enjoy a fresh cup of pure “Ceylon Tea" while purchasing your stock of TEA to take back home. P.M. city tour which is the heart of Sri Lankan hill country. It is the home of the famous Ceylon Tea and the rolling mountains are a carpet of velvety green tea plantations, interspersed with gushing streams and tumbling waterfalls. The salubrious climate, misty glens and the decidedly British character make Nuwara Eliya a must on any Sri Lankan travel itinerary.

Day 08
After breakfast excursion to Horton Plains with a short trek to The World end. P.M. city tour of Nuwara Eliya.

Day 09
After breakfast proceed to Kandy. Photo stops along the way with Ramboda Falls and other scenic places. PM Visit to the Temple of the Tooth. The sacred Tooth Relic of the Buddha is preserved for veneration at the Dalada Maligawa. And sight seeing.

Day 10
After breakfast visit to Royal Botanical Gardens. This 147 are was originally a pleasure garden of the last Queen of Kandy. Later this garden became the operational headquarters of Lord Mountbatten who was Supreme Commander of the allied Forces during the Second World War. This garden is one of the best in the world with its Variety of plants. The best known attraction in the Orchid house which houses more than 300 varieties of orchids. The spice garden gives you a first hand introduction to the trees, plants and creepers that produce the special spices of Sri Lanka. PM Visit to Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. The Pinnawela Elephant orphanage is situated northwest of the town Kegalla, halfways between the present capitol Colombo and the ancient royal residence Kandy in the hills of central Sri Lanka. It was established 1975 by the Sri Lanka Wildlife department. This 24 acres large elephant orphanage is a also breeding pace for elephants, twenty elephants were born since 1984, and it has the greatest herd of elephants in captivity in the world.

Day 11
After Breakfast visit the visit Dambulla Rock Temple – This was built by king Walagambahu in the 1st century B.C. Dambulla is a world heritage site and is the most impressive of Sri Lanka’s cave temples. The complex of five caves with over 2000 sq. meters of painted walls and ceilings is the largest area of paintings found in the world. The caves contain over 150 images of the Buddha of which the largest is the colossal figure of the Buddha carved out of rock and spanning 14 meters. En route visit a spice garden and batik factory. (Which have a variety of spices such as Cinnamon, Clove, Cardamom, Black Pepper, Nut-meg etc.. Clients are taken around the Garden to see the plants in their natural state. Clients can witness the process of extracting certain spices. The spices are also available for sale).

Day 12
After breakfast precedes to Polonnaruwa the capital from the 11th to 13th Century. Its centerpiece is the Terrace of the Tooth Relic. Best examples of sculpture at Polonnaruwa are seen at Gal Vihare, a monument with four beautifully carved images of the Buddha. A sampling of medieval Buddhist art is preserved at the Tivanka Image House. One of the island’s largest known irrigation reservoirs is the Parakrama Samudra, an inland sea contracted in the 11th century. PM At leisure.

Day 13
After breakfast proceed to rock fortress Sigiriya. The awesome ‘Lion Rock’ is one of the most memorable sights you will see. A huge mass of red stone rises majestically over 600 feet into the dry arid air. Built by the mad parricidal King Kasyapa. It is one of the great architectural feats of the ancient. PM at leisure.

Day 14
After breakfast. proceed to Minneriya / Kaudulla National Park by 4x4 jeeps. PM – Village tour – Trekking through shrub jungles and enjoy a typical SriLnkan village meal cooked by natives.

Day 15
After late breakfast transfer to Colombo.

On arrival proceed on a city tour with ample time for shopping. Colombo is a metropolitan city with its population of nearly one million. It is the commercial Capital of Sri Lanka, which keeps pace with modern developments while preserving the Old World charms. Among the many places of interest in the City are the Fort, the Old Parliament House (presently the Presidential Secretariat), Buddhist temples, Old Churches, Hindu temples, Mosques, the National Museum, Independence Hall, Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall .

Day 16
At leisure in Colombo.

Transfer to the airport.
